A CYCLIST who died after being hit by a bus in Croydon has been named as Forest Hill’s Roger William De Klerk.
The 43-year-old IT consultant became trapped under a 410 bus after a collision outside East Croydon train station on Tuesday (November 12) at around 12pm.
The victim, who lived in Vancouver Road, was treated by emergency services at the scene and taken to St George’s Hospital where he was pronounced dead at 1.22pm.
The bus stopped at the scene and the driver was not arrested.
A post-mortem examination has taken place and gave the cause of death as compression of the head, neck and chest.
An inquest opened and adjourned today (November 14) at Croydon Coroner's court.
Detectives are investigating from the Road Death Investigation Unit based at Catford.
