A GROUP of mums have starred in a boob-filled calendar with a difference.

Peer support charity Gravesham Breast Buddies helps mothers get to grips with breastfeeding and has produced a special Christmas gift showing local mums nursing their babies in a variety of scenarios.

One shot reveals a bride feeding her child while in a dazzling-white wedding dress and another shows a mum with her baby in the front seat of a car.

All of the money raised from the We Can Do It calendar will go to the Little Buds special care baby fund at Darent Valley Hospital, which supports babies through lifesaving specialist equipment.

Gravesham Breast Buddies member Deborah Hart, of Pepper Hill, Northfleet, said: "It’s the first time we’ve ever done this.

"I wanted to do a calendar as it seemed a great way to show off the beauty and normality of breastfeeding which I hope will give new mums the confidence to give it a try.

"You can be spontaneous and go anywhere without worrying about having all the paraphernalia of bottles or watching the clock to get back in time for a feed.

"These pictures really do show how flexible a feeding choice it is."

News Shopper: Deborah Hart can be seen in the back row 5th from right.

The 38-year-old hoping the calendar will empower mums to give it a try.

She said: "All the women pictured are breastfeeding mums from the local area and, although posed, all the pictures are of babies genuinely feeding in ordinary - and extraordinary - situations.

"It’s fantastic that women now know where to find support, breastfeeding information and strong networks when they need them - most women would agree these have a profound effect on breastfeeding success."

The photos were taken by award-winning local photographer Emma Donovan.
