FALLEN soldiers were remembered in Bexley on Remembrance Sunday (Nov 10).

Mayor of Bexley Councillor Sharon Massey attended a ceremony which started at United Service Club in Sidcup High street and went St John’s Church in Church Road.

There was a live feed from Whitehall and the wreath was laid at the war memorial in The Green.

Many other memorials took place in the borough including ones at St Paulinus Church in Perry Street, Dartford, and Christ Church in Bexleyheath.

Cllr Sharon Massey said; “It was an honour to lead the Civic Remembrance Service.

"I remember with pride and sadness those who have made the sacrifice of leaving our shores and their loved ones in the service of the defence of our lands. I found the service deeply moving.

"As Jose Narosky said ' In war, there are no unwounded soldiers'. I pray for the day when there will be no conflict around the world and that we can live side by side in peace'."
