CHRISTMAS is quickly approaching and Lewisham Hospital is calling for donations of new toys for ill youngsters.
The toys will be handed out on Christmas Day by Santa Claus to all the children who have to spend the festive period in hospital.
Head of children’s nursing Angie Jones said: "Our hospital runs this campaign every year and we are so grateful to the public for their generous donations.
"We know that no child really wants to spend Christmas Day in hospital but we want to do everything we can to make their day as enjoyable as possible."
Bring your gifts and toys marked Christmas Day Toy Appeal to the New To You shop near the hospital's main reception and place them in the large red container.
For infection control reasons, the hospital cannot accept nearly new or second hand gifts.
