A GROUP of Japanese students swapped Osaka for Blackheath for a cultural exchange programme.
Pupils from Osaka Gakugei School visited Corelli College, learning about British education and trying out their English speaking skills.
The London pupils, meanwhile, had the chance to practice their GCSE and A Level Japanese, meeting those from a system famed for its high numeracy and literacy rates.
During the day, the international students paired up with Corelli pupils and accompanied them to lessons. They also gave a presentation about life in Japan.
Head of languages Chris Richards said: "Corelli is one of the few colleges in South London to offer Japanese as a foreign language, so our students are very privileged to be able to benefit from a rare linguistic and cultural exchange with students from Japan.
"This visit will expand their horizons and further improve their understanding of their position in the global community."
