A KNIFE-WIELDING man in Crayford who was “arrested, charged and remanded in less than 24 hours” has been sent to a young offender's institute for eight weeks.
Peter Nicholls, 19, of no fixed address, was seen outside Nando’s in Tower Retail Park on Sunday afternoon (Nov 3) with a knife.
He was charged with possession of an offensive weapon and pleaded guilty at Bexley Magistrates’ Court by video link on Monday (Nov 4).
A Bexley police spokesperson said: “Police were called to Tower Retail Park, Crayford Road, Crayford at 1420hrs on Sunday 3/11 after an allegation that a male had been seen with a knife in the street.
“19-year-old male stopped and searched by police and arrested for possession of an offensive weapon.”
