POLICE are hunting two men in relation to a petrol station robbery and assault yesterday (Nov 4).

Kent Police released CCTV images of the pair they want to speak to after a man was assaulted before his car was stolen.

Two men entered the BP garage shop at the Clocktower services off Milton Road at 11.15pm.

One leapt over the counter, assaulted the cashier and demanded she open the till.

After stealing cash, the two fled the shop and came across a man parking his dark blue Rover – they punched and kicked him before stealing the vehicle.

The first man is black, of a stocky build, around 5ft 7in and in his 40s. He was wearing a grey hooded top, with a white top underneath, blue jeans, dark shoes and a blue baseball cap.

The second is white, around 6ft, also in his 40s and has dirty blond hair.

Investigating officer, DC Richard Debnam of Kent Police, said: “These were two distressing incidents that took place within seconds of each other.

“The man who had his car stolen was taken to hospital with facial injuries and the cashier has been left upset and anxious after her ordeal.

“I know both men in the images have their faces obscured but the pictures may still be able to jog people's memories.”

“I am asking anybody who thinks they may have witnessed the incident, who recognises the men in the images or who may hold any information on this job at all to call me as soon as possible.”

“Even the smallest bit of information could prove a valuable lead so please do get in touch.”
