A thousand Bexley smokers pledge to stamp out their ciggies
A WHOPPING 1,000 Bexley smokers pledged to kick the habit last month.
Staff at the borough’s Stop Smoking Service offered support at various locations as well as helping council workers stamp out the ciggies.
The free service is also starting a Quit Club for organisations soon so employees can support each other.
Figures published this week by the Health and Social Care Information Centre show the facility has the highest success rate in south east London.
Stoptober started on October 1 and ran for 28 days. Research shows that those who stop smoking for 28 days are five times more likely to stay smoke-free.
