Lewisham to hold two Remembrance Sunday events
LEWISHAM will mark Remembrance Sunday with two commemorative events this year.
Reverend Heston Groenewald the vicar from St John’s Church will lead one service at the war memorial in Upper Brockley Road on November 10 at 10.55am.
It will be attended by the Deptford branch of the Royal British Legion and will include a local band and singer leading the hymns.
A second, larger, service will be led by Father Steve Hall the vicar from St Mary’s the Virgin Church, at the war memorial on Lewisham High Street at 10.55am.
St Mary's Church choir will lead the singing of the hymns and the wreath laying will be led by the Mayor of Lewisham Sir Steve Bullock.
A marching band from the 1475 Squadron ATC will lead contingents to and from the war memorial on Lewisham High Street.
All are welcome to both events.
