Environment Agency dragging Waste4Fuel back to court over St Paul's Cray fire fears
THE Environment Agency is going back to court tomorrow (October 30) to try and get a full court order to clear the Waste4Fuel recycling plant site.
Tomorrow’s High Court hearing will examine the promises made by Waste4Fuel during a previous hearing to take steps to reduce the fire risk on the site in Cornwall Drive, St Paul’s Cray.
It comes after EA officers inspected the site on October 1 and 15 and found the emergency works had not been completed by the High Court agreed deadline of September 30.
Waste4Fuel workers had met deadlines on building a firebreak and removing an area of shredded waste.
But work on building a larger firebreak, which was due to have been completed by September 30, had not even begun when the site was inspected on October 1.
Fire has broken out at the site at least eight times this year.
