Old Bexley and Sidcup MP James Brokenshire confirmed as borough's candidate for the next election
OLD Bexley and Sidcup MP James Brokenshire has been confirmed as the Conservative Prospective Parliamentary Candidate for the constituency at the next General Election.
The politician spoke of his delight at the reappointment and how he is "proud" to call Bexley his home but reiterated his mission to reduce immigration.
The decision to re-adopt him as the candidate for the election in 2015 was confirmed at a meeting in Sidcup on Friday (October 25).
He said: "Since my election in 2010, I’ve done my utmost to serve this community to the best of my ability.
"I retain the passion, energy and drive to continue this work and am proud to call Bexley my home.
"But I know there is more still to be done -to secure economic recovery, to promote jobs and growth and to support hard working families.
He added: "I also want to see us continuing to cut immigration to sustainable levels, significantly reforming our human rights laws and giving the public a say on our continued EU membership."
