STORM: Men hit by falling brick and wood in Charlton and Belvedere
TWO people who were hit by a falling brick and piece of wood in Charlton and Belvedere during this morning's high winds have been taken to hospital.
Ambulance crews were called out to Bugsby's Way at 6.42am to reports of a man hit by a falling brick.
A London Ambulance Service spokeswoman said: "We treated a man in his 40s for a head injury. He was collared and boarded and taken as a priority to the Royal London Hospital by ambulance with a doctor from the air ambulance on board."
And at the same time in Fishers Way, Belvedere, a man was hit by some wood.
The spokeswoman said: "We sent an ambulance to the scene and we treated a man, believed to be in his 20s, for back and leg injury and took him to Queen Elizabeth Hospital."
