Bexley home brew festival featuring morris dancers raises £850 for charity
A HOST of home brew enthusiasts descended on Bexley Village for a boozy festival on Saturday.
Freemantle Hall welcomed 100 brewers and friends for the annual Bexley Home Brew Festival featuring beers, ciders, wines, perries and a bread making competition.
Rockers Ray Band belted out hits from the 60s and 70s while morris dancers Gong Scourers provided alternative entertainment for merry revellers.
Punters ate hot dogs and sampled the brews all in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support for which the ticketed event raised £850.
Committee member and Gong Scourer Glenna Demeter said: “Everybody was really looking forward to the morris dancers and the live music and we all just had fun and let our hair down.
“Everyone wanted to know when the next one is.”
