Beckenham rapist attacked and abused same victim three times
A 27-YEAR-OLD who raped a woman in Beckenham three times has been convicted after systemically sexually, physically and mentally abusing his victim.
Ricardo Dunn, of no fixed address, was found guilty at Woolwich Crown Court today (October 21) of three counts of rape, actual bodily harm and common assault.
The court heard how Dunn abused his 27-year-old victim, raping her last November and December before the final attack in February.
Dunn, described by his victim as controlling and mentally as well as physically abusive during the time she knew him, insisted on knowing her whereabouts and stopped the woman from seeing her friends.
The victim didn't reveal what was happening to her until April when she confided in her sister, who alerted police. He was arrested on April 11.
Dunn will be sentenced on November 22.
Investigating officer Detective Constable Janine Andrews, from the Met's Sexual Offences, Exploitation and Child Abuse Command, said: "A vulnerable woman exploited physically and sexually by someone she trusted had the courage to report the domestic violence to police.
"She has been incredibly strong throughout the investigation and should be commended for her positive action in making a stand against domestic abuse.
"I hope today's result encourages victims in the same situation suffering domestic abuse to come forward."
