Ebbsfleet road naming divides councillor's opinions
THE naming of three new roads in Ebbsfleet has divided opinion among Dartford’s councillors.
Five new roads will be built as part of the 156-home development on the site of the former Fantaseas Water Park off Bow Arrow Lane – and three needed naming.
The developers have put forward suggestions of Laurence, Wilks and Malt Kiln and councillors look set to approve these decisions during a cabinet meeting next Thursday (October 24).
Neither police or Royal Mail object to these names but Joydens Wood ward Councillor Ann Allen says she would rather the names be held for development nearer to the town.
Newtown Councillor Dave Baker and Town Councillor Matthew David say they prefer three of the alternative names, Agincourt, Carnegie and Glentworth.
But Brent Councillor Drew Swinerd says he does not want to see Carnegie used as a road name anywhere in Dartford.
Suffixes will be added to the road names when the development has been finalised.
