A PAIR of weight loss stars helped open a new centre in Dartford dedicated to helping people shift those unwanted pounds.

Steve Mills, 45, from Northfleet is 13.4 stone lighter than he used to be and 31-year-old Jo Heller shed four stone thanks to help from Weight Watchers.

The company now runs classes at the Goals Soccer Centre in Green Street Green Road on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays.

Weight Watchers leaders like Karen Elliott Brown, 50, are also available for one-to-one meetings at the centre before and after classes.

She was joined by colleagues and Dartford’s Deputy Mayor Councillor Avtar Sandhu for the opening on September 16. Ms Elliott Brown told News Shopper: “It was fantastic and Cllr Sandhu is so supportive: he loves the idea.

“Obesity is a crisis and it’s going to get worse next year.

“We do see diabetics come off medication and that is the reality of what weight loss can do.”
