World champion cyclist Kevin Tye visits Cyclopark in Gravesend
WORLD champion Kevin Tye launched a cycling challenge in Gravesend yesterday (October 15).
He completed a single lap of the Cyclopark’s 2.9km road circuit in three minutes and 37 seconds and is encouraging other riders to give it a go.
Halloween half-term Quickest Lap Challenge was launched at the activity centre in Wrotham Road, Gravesend.
The individual time trial event is open to everyone with no experience needed and racing against the clock tests the rider’s strength and endurance.
The three-times Masters world champion said: "It should make for some fast times and exciting solo racing.
"Take the opportunity to see what you can do, don’t make the most common mistakes of not preparing, and make sure you warm up.
"Secondly, don’t ride too hard too soon and tiring early. Good luck and most of all - enjoy it."
