£3,000 grants for Lewisham community building projects up for grabs
FAITH and voluntary organisations in Lewisham can apply for up to £3,000 funding for community building projects.
Lewisham Council is inviting applications for groups to deliver small, one-off projects to benefit communities under its Small and Faith Fund 2013 to 2014.
There are grants available of up to £3,000, - and £10,000 for partnership projects – with the closing date for applications being at noon on November 11.
Cash is available to projects including those which find solutions to community issues, as well as supporting the socially isolated, older people, and residents with mental health problems.
Mayor of Lewisham Sir Steve Bullock said: "Lewisham’s voluntary groups and faith organisations play an extremely important role in supporting some of the most vulnerable people in our community.
"As government cuts deepen, I believe it’s important that we continue to support this vital work wherever possible.
"Again this year, I have allocated £100k which I hope will help those who want to help others help themselves."
