Beckenham Asian gold burglaries in Kent House Road and Park Road: Is there a link?
DETECTIVES are investigating whether there is a link between two Beckenham burglaries where Asian jewellery worth £33,000 was stolen.
In the most recent theft, necklaces, bracelets and rings worth around £30,000 were taken from a home in Kent House Road.
The burglars also nicked a green/ cream Gucci shoulder bag with a red and grey strap, valued at £300.
A man was seen acting suspiciously in the area around the time of the burglary, which happened in the early afternoon on September 23.
He is described as an Asian male, approximately 5ft 7in tall, with a chubby face.
He was wearing black/blue motorcycle gear (not leather), along with a silver crash helmet with a pale blue triangle on the front of it.
The suspect left the scene on a moped.
Investigating officer Detective Constable Karen Rhodes, from Bromley’s burglary squad, said: “I am appealing for anyone who was in the area of Kent House Road, Beckenham, at around 12.15hrs on September 23 and saw this man walking along the road.
“If you saw anything, please contact the burglary squad at Bromley on 020 8284 9966 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111."
And, less than a mile away, in Park Road on July 28 burglars stole around £2,000 of jewellery.
Two suspects were photographed leaving a house on a silver moped and holding a safe at around 11am that day.
The safe contained mainly Indian 24 carat gold necklaces, bracelets, earrings.
