Reported water leak in Westmoreland Road in Bromley
A WATER leak is reportedly plaguing Bromley residents.
News Shopper has received a report from a shift worker who returned home this morning and found water gushing outside her house.
It is thought the incident is occurring in Westmoreland Road, Bromley.
Marise Howells, 65, said: “I’ve just finished my night shift and was going to go to sleep and I found all this water coming from this drain.
“I’m a nurse and I need my sleep.
“I’m really stressed – the water might go into my garage and my neighbours say it’s going inside their property.
“Children are getting splashed as they walk to school, they don’t know where to walk.
“My son can’t go to work and so he’s losing money."
The Westmoreland Road resident added: “I rang the council and they told me to ring the water board who told me it would take two hours, even though I told them it was emergency.”
A spokesman for Thames Water said: "We repaired a leak on a four-inch water pipe yesterday, although one lane on Westmooreland Road will remain closed until the road is fully reinstated.
"Bottled water was available to the residents of the 87 properties affected during the repair yesterday afternoon. We apologise to those customers for any inconvenience."
