ASSISTANT manager Jeremy Parsons was pleased to come away from the West Country on Sunday with a deserved 4-0 win for Charlton women over Keynsham Town.

The Addicks had been buoyed by the previous weekend’s 11-0 friendly win over London Bees (Barnet) Development.

And they took that goal scoring form into this match, with forwards Sam Pittuck and Jenny Newman each bagging a brace, giving Charlton a solid base going into a run of three consecutive home games.

Parsons was delighted with the team’s reaction to their 4-1 loss to Gillingham in their last league game.

He said: “I thought the girls battled really hard, they are starting to work for each other and the work rate is getting so much better.

“Today’s game it was a little bit hard to get our passing going because of the 4g pitch we played on but overall, after the first 15 minutes, once we got going I thought we played really well.

“We’ve worked quite a lot in training on finishing and I think that is paying off now, across the board there are different people scoring.

“Hopefully we can keep it going.

“Overall they all worked really hard and deserved to come away with the win.”

Charlton’s next game is at home to bottom-of-the-table Chesham United at Sporting Club Thamesmead on Sunday.

Tickets are priced at £3 for adults and £1 for concessions.
