Charlton fan thanks Valley fire stewards who saved his life
A CHARLTON fan has thanked the Valley stewards who saved his life, after returning home from hospital.
Last month, News Shopper reported how 70-year-old fan John Lawrence, of New Eltham, collapsed in the toilets after the match against Leicester after suffering a heart attack.
Clint Walsh and Steve Nolan came to his aid, administering CPR and staying with him until paramedics arrived.
Mr Lawrence, who was paid a visit at his Southwood Road home by Mr Walsh and the Millwall fire crew, said: "I'd like to express my gratitude to both the firemen, the Charlton resuscitation team and also the Queen Elizabeth Hospital for the first stage of my recovery.
"Everybody's been so wonderful. It's incredible to think that one minute I could be dead and the next I could be active and doing what I normally do."
