PIC: Westcombe Park station thief snatches Bexleyheath woman's phone from hands
POLICE have released an image of a man they want to speak to after a Bexleyheath woman’s phone was snatched out of her hands at Westcombe Park station.
The 47-year-old victim was sitting opposite a man on the 3.27pm service from Cannon Street to Erith when he swiped the mobile and ran off the train as it pulled into Westcombe Park on September 3.
Detectives are appealing for information following the theft and have released a CCTV image of a man they wish to speak to in connection with the incident.
Detective Constable Mark Agrippa said: “When the train arrived at Westcombe Park around 3.45pm, a man who was sitting opposite the victim snatched her phone out of her hands and ran off the train.”
“If you recognise the man pictured, or know his whereabouts, then we’d really like to hear from you.”
It comes as British Transport Police (BTP) launches Operation Magnum to help rail passengers keep valuables safe from pickpockets, gadget-grabbers and luggage thieves.
