George Verrier murder: Coroner opens inquest into teen's death
AN INQUEST into the death of George Verrier has been opened and adjourned.
The 17-year-old was fatally injured in a mass brawl in Southborough Road at the junction of Blenheim Road, Bromley, at around 12.30am on September 1.
Police asked for paramedics to attend but an ambulance did not turn up and George made his way to a friend’s house in Ferndale.
He was found unconscious there at around 9.30am that day and was airlifted to an east London hospital where he was pronounced dead at 6.11pm.
The inquest was opened at Croydon Coroner’s Court on Tuesday (September 17).
After a previous inquest into a house fire victim in St Mary Cray, coroner Dr Roy Palmer warned Bromley lives were at risk due to an overstretched ambulance service.
