Ebbsfleet Academy students sent home for breaking uniform policy - what do you think?
OUR story about Ebbsfleet Academy sending 30 pupils home on the first day of school because they violated its school uniform policy has caused quite a stir.
Reporter ADAEZE NDAKOJI found out what News Shopper readers think.
Samantha Wray, 23, of Howbury Lane, Slade Green, said: "I think it's ridiculous. I hope they don’t do things like that when my daughter starts school. They should have let all the parents know directly that the kids had been sent home."
Victor Oyetunji, 60, of Hallplace Crescent, Bexley, said: "If the school gave the information out about correct uniform then the school has a right to put their foot down. Parents should comply. It's good the school has discipline."
Randy Agyeman, 16, of Dacca Street, Deptford, said: "It's a bad move on the part of the school. It's the first day back, give the kids a chance. Getting sent home for things like that is pathetic. The education should come first."
Aisha Forbe, 21, of Footbury Hill, Orpington, said: "That is a lot of students to send home in one day. I’m a university student now, but I couldnt imagine my secondary school doing anything like that."
Maia Ruby, 23, of Owenite Street, Abbey Wood, said: "Its crazy, the school went too far. I understand they have rules to enforce but they are just kids. Sometimes things like this happen with uniforms. It should have been handled better."
Jermaine Holten, 26, of Maryon Road, Charlton, said: "It was the first day, there should definitely have been an assembly to give a warning. Thirty pupils should not have been sent home like that."
