Ravens Wood School being investigated following allegation of 'malpractice'
A BROMLEY school is being investigated for possible malpractice.
Ravens Wood School, in Oakley Road, Bromley, is being scrutinised by exam body Edexcel although the full details are still unknown.
Staff at the school were unavailable for comment when contacted on Monday (September 16).
A spokesman for Pearson, Edexcel’s parent company, said: “I can confirm that Ravens Wood School is currently being investigated.
“We can’t comment on any individual circumstances whilst they are still under investigation.
"However we take any allegation of malpractice extremely seriously and will always take appropriate action, in the interests of fairness for all learners, when such incidents are discovered.”
The school's Ofsted inspection reportedly took place in June although the report still has to be published.
An Ofsted spokesman said: “As part of Ofsted’s inspection process, we carry out rigorous quality assurance of our inspections and reports.
"Sometimes this means we do not meet the normal timeline for publication. The report for the school is expected to be published shortly.”
The school's executive principal Sir George Berwick was awarded a CBE in 2007 for his services to education.
