Met police contact points now open across Lewisham and Greenwich
FOLLOWING the closure of police stations, new contact points are now open across the area.
The Met's changes will see increased responsibilities for safer neighbourhood teams, each of which will be led by an inspector accountable for reducing crime in the area.
In Lewisham, contact points will be at Blackheath rail station, the Deptford Lounge, Catford Hill police station, Sydenham Savacentre and Torridon Road Post Office, Catford.
Lewisham Police Station will maintain a 24-hour front counter service while Deptford and Catford police stations open Mondays to Wednesdays from 7am until 3pm, and Thursdays and Fridays from 2pm until 10pm.
In Greenwich, contact points are at Safer Neighbourhood Team bases in Thamesmead's Joyce Dawson Way, William Barefoot Drive in Eltham and Lakedale Road, Plumstead, along with Greenwich police station.
All points are open Wednesdays and Thursdays from 7pm to 8pm and Saturday afternoons between 2pm and 3pm.
Plumstead police station will be open 24 hours a day, while Eltham station will open Tuesday to Saturdays 10am to 6pm.
A mobile police station will visit Woolwich town centre Saturdays and Greenwich on Sundays from 12pm to 2pm.
