A TABBY cat accidentally transported from Biggin Hill to Beckenham in a delivery van has reappeared after vanishing for seven months.

However the moggy, whose adventure brings to mind the children's novel The Incredible Journey, still hasn't made it all the way home.

It is currently living on the garden table of Sara Buenfeld, who is hoping to find its owners once and for all.

The 53-year-old, of Kenwood Drive, Beckenham, told News Shopper: "This tabby cat with white markings has been missing and living wild since the beginning of the year.

"The cat first turned up in February.

"A guy was delivering furniture to the house of my friend, Tracy, in Kenwood Drive.

"He was driving from a housing estate behind the high street in Biggin Hill.

"The cat must have jumped in the van there because when he got to Tracy's house he just jumped out.

"We didn't see him again until ten days ago, when he just appeared."

Mrs Buenfeld has conceded she cannot continue to look after the creature partly because her own cat, Muffy, has taken a disliking to it.

She added: "The cat's been taken out of its environment so can't find its way home.

"I have given it food to try and help it but I cannot keep it.

"Although it looks healthy it is very thin under its fluffy fur.

"It was obviously a loved pet as it is friendly and full of character.

"It is very inquisitive. That's probably what got it into trouble in the first place."

Mrs Buenfeld has asked the owners or anyone with information on who owns the cat to call 07796 264 776.
