A 47-YEAR-OLD Sydenham man has appeared in court accused of attempted murder following two stabbings in Plumstead and Catford.

Archibald Reverent Foster, of Tredown Road, appeared at Bexley Magistrates’ Court on Saturday (September 7) charged with two counts of attempted murder.

It comes after a 31-year-old woman was stabbed five times in her legs as she walked across Plumstead Common on September 5 at around 10am.

The attack was linked by police to a stabbing in Catford last month where a 26-year-old woman was attacked in Bromley Road on the morning of August 26.

Foster is due to appear at Woolwich Crown Court on September 20 for a plea hearing and will remain in custody until that time.
