Greenwich & Bexley Community Hospice is gearing up to hold a 10km ladies only moonlit fundraiser to help raise vital funds.

The second Greenwich & Bexley Community Hospice Moonlit Walk will be held on Saturday 14th September.

Last year’s Hospice fundraiser saw 387 women power their way through the night-time circular route which raised over £30,000 for Greenwich & Bexley Community Hospice.

Megan Boyle, community fundraiser, said: “We need as many ladies to enter into the ‘girls night out’ spirit of the evening as possible and raise much-needed funds through sponsorship.”

The sponsored 10km walk, which will kick off with a dance fusion workout at 9.45 pm, will start and finish at Bexleyheath Broadway Shopping Centre.

The Mayor of Bexley, Cllr Sharon Massey will ‘cut the ribbon’ to get the event underway at 10pm.

Entrants must be over 13, and those under 16 must be accompanied by a registered adult.

Registration costs £10 in advance or £20 on the night per person and places can be booked online at www.communityhospice.org.uk .

The registration fee includes a Moonlit Walk branded T-shirt and a medal for every walker. Refreshments will be available on route and at the end.

The event raises funds for Greenwich & Bexley Community Hospice, a local charity that provides free specialist end of life nursing, medical care and support for local people, 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
