A MAN was coaxed off a Catford bridge this morning after threatening to jump.
Police were called at 3.40am by a man who said he was going to kill himself before clearing the line.
Helicopters were sent by the Met’s Air Support Unit to a disused bridge by Catford Rail Station as well as officers from London Ambulance Service and London Fire Brigade officers.
Lewisham Police officers spoke with the man and helped persuade him to climb down.
He was treated by the London Ambulance Service and taken to a south London hospital where he remains.
He has also been arrested for criminal damage and endangering safety on the railway by British Transport Police.
