A CANNABIS factory in Bromley High Street overheated and sparked a flat fire that damaged a café.
The three-storey flat caught fire at 2am on Thursday morning.
When police officers attended, they discovered more than 225 cannabis plants scattered throughout the bathroom, living room and in the kitchen as well as tents and hydrophonic growing equipment.
Firefighters soon found the fire started when heat from the equipment being used to grow the cannabis caused a light to melt, setting fire to the flat.
Police say the fire caused “substantial” damage to both the flat and the café below.
No one has been arrested but enquiries are continuing.
