St Mary Cray woman who made up attack to get back at friend guilty of wasting police time
A ST MARY CRAY woman falsely claimed she was assaulted by a man to get back at him after an argument.
Alice Hall, of Kevington Close, pleaded not guilty to wasting police time but was found guilty at Bexley Magistrates' Court and fined £520.
On April 22 the 23-year-old contacted police claiming she had been seriously assaulted on April 18 when she was given a lift home after an evening out.
She said the man had hit her in the mouth and threw her out of the vehicle before further assaulting her.
A 22-year-old man was subsequently arrested on suspicion of GBH.
A police spokesperson said: "Hall later admitted to police she had made up the allegation to get back at he male after an argument in the car and was charged."
