Gravesend X Factor 'superstar' Tamera Foster has 'potential beyond belief'
GRAVESEND X Factor star Tamera Foster was described as a “superstar” and told she has “potential beyond belief” following her second audition.
The 16-year-old Northfleet School for Girls student performed Whitney Houston’s ‘I Have Nothing’ in front of a 4,000-strong crowd at Wembley Arena.
Tamera said she was “so, so, so, so nervous” as she stepped onto the stage, having “never seen so many people in my life.”
But after initially forgetting the lyrics to the song, Tamera was told by veteran judge Louis Walsh “it could be the first day of an amazing career for you” as she received a standing ovation from the crowd.
Returning judge Sharon Osborne told her: “You take my breath away.
“So many people want to be Whitney but her songs are so huge and I thought you were going to destroy it.”
Louis Walsh said: “I have been doing this ten years and I don’t think I have ever seen anybody with the potential that you have, and that includes Leona Lewis and Alexandra Burke.
“If you get your act together you are the best, you are incredible. I am speechless. She is the one to beat for me.”
Take That star Gary Barlow added: “It was by no means perfect but what we see here right now is potential beyond belief.
“That was captivating and mesmerising.”
Whilst Pussycat Doll Nicole Scherzinger told the teen: “You have a gift and talent. You are a star.”
With four nods from the judges, Tamera sailed through to the boot camp stage of the competition, which is due to be aired later this month.
