New leg ulcer clinic opened in Bromley
A NEW health service has been developed for people in Bromley suffering from leg ulcers.
The clinic has been commissioned following a successful pilot which ran from December 2011 to 2012 and showed dramatic improvements in patients.
Around 90 per cent of people had their wounds healed within three months through using the service.
The average time it took for an ulcer to be treated was reduced from 21 weeks to less than six weeks.
Patients registered at all GP practices in the borough can now be referred to the specialist team for assessment, after which a plan is developed to help the ulcers.
