AN ELDERLY woman was hurt in a house blaze in Plumstead this morning.
Four fire engines from Plumstead, Lee Green, and Lewisham fire stations were called to the house in St Margaret’s Terrace at about 10.30am.
Two adults and six children escaped before crews arrived.
The injured woman was treated for burns to her hands and smoke inhalation before being taken to Queen Elizabeth Hospital.
Paramedics checked over seven patients in total.
More than 20 firefighters spent around an hour tackling the blaze which broke out on the first floor of the building.

The cause of the fire which severely damaged the house is under investigation.
