Greenwich Dances festival attended by 15,000 people
ORGANISERS of a Greenwich dancing festival say they got more than 15,000 on their feet this summer.
The six-week Greenwich Dances festival attracted movers and shakers up to 86-years-old to events ranging from swing dance at the British Music Experience and yoga in Greenwich Park to Grease at a pop-up cinema in Eltham and an explosion of street dance in Woolwich’s General Gordon Square.
In addition, more than 3,200 people took part in a variety of free dance workshops across the borough.
The programme was organised by Greenwich Dance as part of the Royal Greenwich Festivals series.
Interim executive director at Greenwich Dance Amanda Davey said: "Once again this summer people of all ages were given the chance to experience dance, through taking part in creative dance workshops in unexpected places or watching internationally-acclaimed artists performing on their doorstep.
"We’d like to thank everyone who came to enjoy the amazing performances and be inspired by the extraordinary workshops."
