Lewisham and Bromley to welcome National Careers Service 'jobs bus' this week
LEWISHAM and Bromley are being visited by the National Careers Service 'jobs bus' this week.
The Careers Roadshow, in partnership with Fish4jobs, aims to help people use tools and access advice to take the right steps in their career or search for jobs.
And the roadshow will also be on hand to provide information on apprenticeships and other options for 16 to 18-year-olds.
Employers will also attend to share information on local job opportunities, and face-to-face workshops will also be available, covering key topics including: top tips on finding a job, how to build a winning CV or job application and how to impress at interviews.
The bus will be in Lewisham High Street tomorrow (August 21) and in Bromley at Market Square on August 22. Both run from 10am to 4.30pm.
John Dempster, a National Careers Service adviser from Lewisham, said: "The Careers Roadshow is a great opportunity to deliver advice to people who need it as well as raise awareness of the free and impartial service we offer.
"We support, encourage and inspire people at every stage of their working life, from recent school leavers and graduates to the unemployed and those in work looking to take the next step in their career.
"On the jobs bus we are excited to offer a broad range of personalised advice whether you have just received your exam results, are rethinking your options following redundancy, a parent returning to work, or seeking a fresh challenge in your career."
