DETECTIVES investigating the murder of a 21-year-old woman in Hither Green have arrested a man in connection with her death.
They have taken the 22-year-old man, believed to be the victim's husband, into custody after arresting him in the Folkestone area this morning (August 15).
His arrest comes after police were called to a block of flats in Eastdown Park at around 5.50pm yesterday.
After forcing their way into the property they found the victim, who was suffering from suspected stab wounds.
London Ambulance Service pronounced the woman dead at the scene.
Neighbours spoke of their shock today as the road remained cordoned off.
Shop manager Pankaj Patel said: "I saw a blonde woman last night sitting in a police car and crying.
"This morning the road was closed off and there was a guy putting on a forensic suit.
"Everybody's coming in and talking about it."
Next of kin have been informed but officers await formal identification.
A post-mortem examination will be arranged in due course.
Any witnesses or anyone with any information are asked to call the incident room on 020 8721 4805 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
