A BEREAVED Crayford mother is encouraging parents to join her on a twilight walk to raise money for a Northfleet children's hospice that cared for her two sons.

Sydney and Freddie Read were both cared for by chYps before they died at the age of three from a rare genetic condition called Alpers Disease.

Now, their mother Vicki, of Heatherbank Close, is urging people to take part in the walk through Danson Park in Bexleyheath to raise money for the charity.

The 40-year-old said: "If it hadn’t been for chYps, I would’ve crumbled.

"They got me through the darkest of days.

"Taking part in twilight walk is my way of giving back to this amazing charity."

ChYps Children’s Hospice must raise £1.47m every year in order for them to be able to provide care and support for life-limited children and their families in Bexley and north Kent.

The twilight walk takes place on September 20 at 6.45pm.
