A SYDENHAM man found with a “golf-ball-sized” stash of cocaine in his bottom was spared jail to save his boxing career.

Tyronne Campbell-Williams, of Longton Grove, was stopped in Greenwich Church Street by police who found a wad of cash in his pockets and 16.1 grammes of the drug between his buttocks on February 15.

Campbell-Williams, 26, was sentenced at Bromley Magistrates’ Court on August 8 to a community order of 150 hours of unpaid work after previously pleading guilty to possessing a controlled Class A drug on July 23.

Prosecuting, Temi Bakare told the court: “He was stopped by police and seemed agitated.

"They found a golf-ball-sized bag of cocaine between his buttocks.”

Sentencing him, Judge Roy Brown, who said he had previously worked on a boxing board, said: “This was quite a large quantity for your own use and of rather a high purity.

“You say you are interested in boxing. I hope you make a go of that.

“One of the reasons I am not going to impose a custodial sentence is the board looks very dimly on those with a custodial sentence.

“But if you continue to use drugs and possession of quantities such as these you will find any idea you have of getting into boxing management gone.

“You should see this as very much a last chance to salvage something.”

Campbell-Williams was also ordered to pay £140 in court costs.
