POLICE are appealing for information after a 30-year-old man was stabbed in Deptford High Street on Monday (July 22).

The victim was attacked near the junction of Deptford Broadway and was taken to hospital where he is reported to be in a serious but stable condition.

Lewisham Police were called at 1.30pm and are urging the “kind” passersby who helped the wounded man prior to their arrival to come forward to help with the investigation.

Detective Constable Abraham Pino, of Lewisham CID: "Many people who were at the location were kind enough to stop and assist the victim at the time but unfortunately several are believed to have left prior to the arrival of police.

“We believe these people may hold vital information that can assist us with our investigation."
