BLOOD was all over a man’s face and throat after he cut his neck by a parade of shops in Orpington last night, according to an eyewitness.

Krish Jay came out of the Morley’s in Carlton Parade after buying some fried chicken at about 10.15pm last night when he saw the man in the street.

Mr Jay, who works at the nearby Stop-N-Go convenience store, says he was shocked by what he saw.

He said: “He had blood on his neck and his face and I thought somebody else had done it to him, I did not think he’d done it himself.

“I was shocked and it worries me because it was so close to my shop.”

Emergency services were called to the scene and found the man suffering from self inflicted wounds.

He was taken to the Princess Royal University Hospital, Farnborough, by ambulance where he is receiving treatment.

A Bromley police spokesman says the man’s wounds are not life threatening.

Ryan Curran, who lives above the parade of shops, says he thinks the injured man may live near him.

The 25-year-old said: “There was a guy who said he was going to book himself in to the mental health hospital but then we saw him on a bus going in the other direction.

“He was a mental health patient who has been going a bit crazy lately and he has had quite a few problems in the last few days.

“He thinks everybody hates him and says what’s the point in living and says he is going to kill himself but then he said he’s going back to the hospital.”
