TWENTY babies were born at the Princess Royal University Hospital on the same day (July 22) the royal heir arrived.

Following much speculation, The Duchess of Cambridge gave birth yesterday to a boy, weighing 8lbs 6oz, at St Mary’s Hospital in Paddington at 4.24pm.

However the maternity unit at the Princess Royal University Hospital (PRUH) in Farnborough also had a busy time with 20 babies arriving on the hottest day of the year so far with temperatures reaching 33C.

The newborns include Anja, Elijah, Mintyrose, and Preston, and all 20 babies were given a babygro, blanket, and hat donated designer clothes company, Their Nibs London, to celebrate the royal birth.

Anja was born just four minutes after the prince (who was born at 4.24pm) weighing 9lb and was welcomed into the world by mum Valerija Tadic and dad Ian Tharp.

She is the Bromley couple’s first child.

Elijah was born to mum Lucy Plant and dad Darren Plant from Anerley, weighing 8lb 6oz and is little brother to two-year-old Cory.

Proud parents Mark Warwick and Ami Moutrey celebrated the birth of their child, Preston, who was born just after 10am weighing 7lb 10oz. He has a big brother, Jaiden, who is three.

St Mary Cray mum Racheal Baker gave birth to baby girl Mintyrose at 8.45am who weighed in at 7lb 4oz.

The 29-year-old said: “I didn’t know Kate was in Labour because it was one in the morning by the time I was out.

“I was overwhelmed when my midwife told me.”
