A WOMAN reportedly received a ‘vile tirade of abuse’ including racial comments on a train running through Bromley South after asking a fellow commuter to move their bags.

The British Transport Police (BTP) is appealing for information about the incident and have released a picture of a woman they want to speak to who could help the investigation.

They want anyone who recognises the pictured woman, who is believed to have got off at Bromley South, to get in touch.

Investigating officer PC Neil Allison said: “The victim, a 52-year-old woman from Sittingbourne, was sitting at a table seat on the 6.57pm Victoria to Ramsgate service.

“A woman sat opposite the victim had placed shopping bags on the seat next to her.

"When a man asked her to move the bags so he could sit down, she declined.

“The victim then asked the woman to move her bags so that the man could sit down.

He added: "However, what followed was a vile tirade of abuse at the victim, including racial comments.”
