LONGFIELD homeowners will still be able to collect their undelivered mail from the area when the delivery office, in Hartley Road, closes its doors next month.
Royal Mail announced the branches closing date of August 5 this week, although the plans have been in the pipeline for several years.
Undelivered post for the Longfield area will now be returned to Hartley post office, in Ash Road, where customers can collect it from if they are out when it is delivered.
Only items subject to a surcharge or customs charge will be taken to the delivery office in West Hill, Dartford.
A Royal Mail spokesman said: “There will not be any compulsory redundancies as a result of this relocation.
“We will reimburse our staff for any extra mileage incurred by a change to their place of work.”
