VISITORS to Hoblingwell Park will be part of music history tomorrow (July 13) as part of this summer’s national Our Big Gig celebration.

The event at the park in St Paul’s Cray, which is also known as Hoblingwell Wood Recreation Ground, aims to get the community involved in music and to interact with the bands and artists.

People will be invited to make their own musical instruments out of recycled bottles and tins so they can join in with the music.

It is being hosted by The Oakland Brothers and starts at 2pm and runs until 6pm.

Other acts include Grace Bishop, Frank Stateboro, Nick McPherson, Kathy Maye with others to be confirmed.

Our Big Gig will see more than 200,000 people attend music events in their communities across the United Kingdom this weekend.

The Hoblingwell event is being organised by the Friends of Hoblingwell (FOH) group.

FOH spokesman Darren Russell said: “This is the first time the Friends of Hoblingwell have put on a live music event and we are so excited to be part of Our Big Gig and we can't wait to see our local community getting involved an join in with the acts whether they are playing with their new recycled instruments, clapping along or even singing.

“There will also be a chance to speak to the act's after their performances."
