BROMLEY Council has launched a full programme of summer events for young people.

The scheme starts on July 20 and runs until September 1 in parks across the borough with activities ranging from football and rounders to jewellery design, nail art and smoothie making.

Members of Bromley Youth Council and Youth Support Service have joined executive member for public protection and safety councillor Tim Stevens to deliver leaflets publicising the events.

He said: "During the long summer holidays it’s easy for young people to get bored and for some this can mean the possibility of getting into trouble.

"That’s why we think it is really important to provide a wide range of activities in our parks and youth centres right through the summer.

"There’s bound to be something for everyone and all the events are free.

"I hope we will have hundreds of young people coming along to each event - let’s make it a record year."
