DETECTIVES have released a CCTV image of a man who tied up a ticket vendor during a robbery at Grove Park railway station last night. (July 9)

Police were called to the station in Baring Road at 8.26pm to reports of a robbery.

Colleagues of the 37-year-old female ticket sales assistant found her tied up in the booking office with her wrists bound before dialling 999.

She had been targeted by a man who stole a “medium amount of cash” from the office before calmly walking away from the station.

Police have released a CCTV image of a man they wish to speak to in connection with an incident.

The victim suffered minor injuries during the attack, including bumps and bruises, and was left shocked.

Ambulance staff were called to the station at 9.15pm and paramedics treated the woman for injuries to her wrist.

She was taken to Lewisham Hospital as a precautionary measure before being collected later by her family.

Officers from the British Transport Police (BTP) are now appealing for witnesses, or anyone who saw suspicious activity in the area between 8pm and 8.30pm, to come forward.

The man who carried out the robbery is described as being of mixed race, of average height and of a large build.
