MORE than 300 staff, students and family members came together to stage a concert in memory of tragic Bexleyheath teenager Philip Lamin on Friday evening. (July 5)

The 16-year-old collapsed moments after scoring a goal during a match between Bexleyheath Academy year 11’s and the sixth form at Goals Soccer Centre, Graham Road, on February 5.

He suffered a cardiac arrest and was rushed to Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Woolwich where he sadly died.

In tribute, two doves were released at 7pm on Friday and Philip’s friends wore RIP t-shirts.

Principal Carl Wakefield said: “The music provided by Bexleyheath Academy students was amazing and was enjoyed by all who attended especially the Mayor of Bexley, Cllr Sharon Massey and Ms Juliet Lamin, Philip's mum.

“All-in-all, it was an evening Philip himself would have been proud of.”

The music event is the latest tribute to Philip, and follows the success of a charity football match last month.
